Two men suffered third-degree burns this morning when a propane tank exploded at an auto salvaging yard in Green Brook, police said.Somerset EMS rapid response team was on scene.The victims were air lifted to the burn unit at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston following the incident, reported at 10:10 a.m. at Perrone's Auto Salvage on Route 22 East, Officer Lawrence Goldstein said.
The tank exploded as a worker was moving equipment with a large industrial machine, possibly a back hoe, Goldstein said.
Initial reports indicate the men suffered third-degree burns to their face, chest and arms, Goldstein said.
