One woman was critically injured and two other people hurt when the woman's former love interest hacked them with a machete in Union City this morning, cops said.Although the machete has been recovered, the man fled and is considered "armed and extremely dangerous," cops said, asking for the public's help in finding him.
Joel Cordova, aka Noel Palma, who is in his mid-30s, went to the Monastery Place home his 44-year-old former love interest is living in with friends and the two got into an argument at around 3 this morning, cops said.
Cordova pulled out a machete and slashed the woman, against whom he had a history of domestic abuse dating back to 2007, cops said.
Cordova then repeatedly slashed the woman's 35-year-old male companion, who was in the room, police said.
At that point, the 39-year-old woman who owns the apartment came out of her room to see what going was going on. Cordova slashed her as well before she managed to secure herself back in her room, cops said
The victims were all rushed to Jersey City Medical Center, officials said.
The 44-year-old woman is in critical condition while the other two victims had less serious injuries and are expected to be released today, police said.
