A garbage truck worker in Bayonne may lose one or both of his legs after being struck by an apparently drunk driver this morning, police said.
Officials said a worker on a sanitation vehicle near West 27th Street and Kennedy Boulevard was struck by another car about 6:50 a.m.New Jersey Emts and Paramedics rushed the man to Bayonne Hospital.
The woman driving the car who Smith said will be charged with drunk driving -- had to be extricated from her vehicle by firefighters and was taken to the Bayonne hospital, said Fire Chief Patrick Boyle.
"Charges are being drafted right now, but I can tell you with certainty the driver (who struck the worker) is being charged with a DWI," Smith said.
